i just had a really awesome shoot with these two. i love love love when there's client chemistry... something just clicks... no pun intended. people often have a hard time getting the type of clients that they want... i really adore my clients. + they it seems, quite like my work. i'm certainly no marketing guru... but i think i know a key thing or two about helping the types of people you're wanting to work with find + hire you! number one rule : show what you want to shoot. then you'll be hired to shoot the type of work you show. it's a really lovely karmic cycle. i recently refreshed the love section of my website. i took a lot of really nice looking photos in 2010. i was having a hard time picking the 50 or so for my site. i kept chanting this golden nugget of wisdom in my head. a lot of really pretty photos didn't make the cut... but what did is a true representation of my creative vision... this is why people hire me over the other guy. this is why it's so important to shoot for yourself... to cultivate your own unique look. make a reason for your work to stand apart. also, be authentic + honest in your representation of yourself. people don't just hire you for your work alone, it's for the person they're going to connect with behind the lens. give your blog a line or two that helps a potential client know who you are... oh, + for pete's sake... spruce up the about section of your site. site's that don't have one drive me crazy. a picture may be worth a thousand words, but a good about page is honestly priceless.
