Here's a snippet of Lynn's initial email to me : We want this to be a super fun, non-traditional wedding (aren't they all). The visual/aesthetic I'm going for is glamorous/sophisticated 1930s Old Hollywood, but fun and whimsical, not so serious. Because the dinner and dancing are in two different areas, I want the dinner to be like a glamorous dinner party, and segue to a raucous dance party. We'll have a DJ and potentially some surprise entertainment throughout the night! My fiance is a chef - we just opened Tertulia in the West Village - so obviously food will play a huge part in the wedding! We'll be doing some fun things - maybe have people shucking oysters during cocktail hour, perhaps roast pig or lamb on a spit, etc.
I was thrilled to be considered to shoot a wedding like this with so much attention to amazing detail... + being somewhat of a food lover myself, I was excited about that playing a big theme in the evening... I'll let the photos do the rest, but I do want to shout out a big thanks to Katie Osgood who 2nd shot for me + some of who's photos are featured below.
This wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty so please head there for a lot more details from the bride.... Although this was my favorite thing she said : I had a very clear vision of our wedding’s look and feel (and I have A LOT of mood boards to show for it!). I wanted it to be swank and sophisticated, with a bit of old-world glamour (hence getting ready at The Nomad Hotel, a stunning European-inspired boutique hotel in an old Beaux-Arts building), but also untraditional and different. We loved the Brooklyn Winery because the interior wine bar had a great antique feel with its pressed tin ceiling and vintage wallpaper, while the main space skewed more modern and industrial. I wanted it to look as if the set designer from Downtown Abbey took off with a truckload of props and set up shop in industrial Williamsburg!
I think they totally pulled it off, + I was really excited to be apart of it all! Here's Seamus + Lynn
