i cannot believe how fast this year's gone by. i cannot believe it's nearly christmas, nearly 2011, nearly the end of a decade. through a friend's blog i came across this great site that helps promote using the end of your year as an opportunity to reflect on what's happened, + to send out reverberations for the year ahead. there's a question for every day in december that prompts you to reflect on subjects such as beauty, friendship, writing, community, appreciation, wisdom, action, letting go etc. head to reverb10 to reflect on this past year, + manifest what's next. speaking of what's next, i'm getting ready to embark on a serious journey myself. in an effort to remain fresh, focused, inspired... i decided early on this year, to take one month out of twelve to focus on a personal photography project that wasn't wedding related, client based, or paid. january 3rd, i'm heading with my favorite yogi girlfriend to india + sri lanka for 4 weeks of travel, yoga, photo making, + sights intaking. if you're interested in my personal project i'm undertaking, you can read all about it here. + while i'm all starry eyed with wanderlust these days, i came across just about the raddest video ever. mike matas traveled 1000 miles in 2 weeks + put 4000 of his amazing photographs into 1 - 2 minute slideshow. i love this presentation of travel photography... check it out!
meanwhile, i've been catching up on months worth of bookkeeping, (worst part of the job for me), loads of album designs for clients aswell as tons of new sample books for the new year, client meetings for next year's weddings, oh + some exciting new branding + website redesigns. oh yeah... + christmas shopping too. NYC is one special place during the holidays, however my westcoast blood cannot get used to this bitter cold. hats, scarves, mittens + hot cocoa are my best friends these days... those + thoughts of this...xo, brooke
