one of the perks of being a photographer is being able to have some very talented photographer friends... believe it or not, when i first found out i was pregnant, i wasn't planning on having any maternity photos at all done! i can really commiserate with some of my more nervous clients when it's picture time because i really don't much enjoy having my photo taken either. it always takes a little time to get warmed up + feel natural in front of someone's lens. none the less, a few of my friends begged to do some pics + i finally relented thinking "why not?"... one of my fantastic 2nd shooters, Miho did my New York session which can be seen here. I stopped over in Seattle on the way to Hawaii + my girl Renee did an awesome session that totally showcased my love for the pacific northwest + all her grandeur. + lastly one of my oldest friends, Ruth, did a very tropical island apropo shoot underwater of my expanding belly... more of which can be seen here...(btw, believe me... swimming with all of those tropical fish is not as glamorous as it looks, but anything for the shot right?)speaking of incredibly talented friends... an old old friend showed me a little side project he + his wife have been working on... when designers want something that's not yet on the market, they design it! so Erick wanted a thin wood cover for his iphone 4 + set about figuring out how to create just what he was looking for... the result of which can be seen here (www.lazerwood.com) i love the fresh new look it gives my phone + get comments about it everywhere...
lastly, i'm honored to have Christian + Natasha's indie DIY Brooklyn wedding featured on Ruffled's blog today! swing by to check it out! ooh, one last shout out... the wedding artists collective (with whom i'm proud to be apart of it's roster of very talented photographers) got a great mention in New York's Daily Candy 2011 Wedding Guide today. big congrats to them for recognition well deserved!
alright, that's it for now. hope you have an amazing monday where ever you are!
