We were so happy we worked with Brooke to shoot our Brooklyn Winery wedding. She was great to be around and put everyone at ease. And the photos- wow! We decided to splurge on this element since we knew it was an element we'd have forever and we are so glad we did. She caught so many amazing moments and we got so many beautiful shots. She has a great eye and captured the whole day beautifully, while being sweet and lovely. I recommend her 100%. We couldn't be happier with the shots.
We had Brooke Fitts for our July 19 Catskills wedding and cannot say enough good things about her. I first met with Brooke in early spring and knew from the get-go that she was the photographer we wanted. An experienced photographer who knows what she is doing, Brooke is both comfortable and professional (surprising how rare that combo can be!) As our wedding site was 3 hours north of NYC, she scoped out the location ahead of time online and was in communication with us leading up to the wedding to pre-plan the shots which were most important to us. Dealing with what felt like 100 different vendors leading up to the wedding, it was so nice to know she was on the ball without me needing to do anything. My fiancé and I both are a little camera shy. Brooke did a great job of making us feel comfortable and was able to get all the shots she needed during the ceremony without being a very noticeable presence. She did a great job of working almost behind-the-scenes (I never liked it when you saw a photographer running around a bride and groom, snapping shots while they were saying their vows) and Brooke proved to be truly discreet but also accessible if we needed her (and there are always those moments during a wedding when you instantly have to have a shot of something!) At one point, I realized I wanted a picture of my grandmother’s bible that I had carried down the aisle and when I asked Brooke if we could get a shot of it, her reply was “Already done.” That about summarizes it – you can trust that she is on the ball and you can then sit back and enjoy your day. In summary, Brooke brings a positive attitude, calmness and a sense of humor to your most emotional and fantastic day. If you are looking for a professional photographer with an eye for great shots who puts your interests first, go with Brooke!
Brooke shot for us twice – in Seattle in September 2013 for our engagement photos and during our engagement dinner and then in Brooklyn, NY in July 2014 for our wedding. Across both events, Brooke’s friendly and supportive style managed to put us at ease in front of the camera. She had a great eye in capturing us naturally while highlighting the unique (and sometimes untraditional) qualities of all the various locations we chose, which included a secluded wooded creek under an abandoned train trestle, a modern Korean/French lofted restaurant, a graffiti-covered bridge spanning a polluted canal, and a grand Art Deco library. Brooke’s photos of us in Brooklyn really reflected the blend of urbanism and artistry that we love about our home in New York City, framing the refined and warm atmosphere of our intimate and loving event within its gritty and industrial cityscape. Overall, Brooke captured a great mix of intimate and personal moments and the labored-over details of the event décor, while still documenting the overall ambience with broader shots.
The experience of working with Brooke was also great. She and her management were prompt over email and very organized. During the shoots, she was efficient in moving through our shot list, while still being open to last minute changes that arose. Brooke is a balanced juxtaposition of professionalism and easygoing flexibility. Even the care and creativity with the final product presentation confirms Brooke’s high standards and thoughtfulness she carries for her clients.
Photography is such an emotional thing and it was extremely important to me to have someone with a vision capturing our day. We spent quite sometime researching for the perfect fit: someone creative with a modern way of capturing candid moments. When we found Brooke, I knew we had to work with her. In fact, she was the very first vendor we booked. I can say without any doubt, she lives up to and exceeds expectations on delivery. She doesn't make you feel posed and doesn't try to stage scenarios. She lets you be yourself with loved ones and discreetly photographs those moments. Beyond being a natural talent, she is just a lovely person. You can see in the art she makes that she is dedicated to what she does. We feel lucky to have had her as our photographer.
I should mention Brooke brought a second shooter with her, Lauren, who was very nice and accommodating to us + wedding party. Lauren was definitely vigilant to capture us and our guests during cocktail hour, then went on to capture the crazy/amazing photobooth photos. She did a great job!
I am a professional photographer and Art Director, so I had very high expectations for how I wanted our wedding day captured. After we found our venue, the search for the perfect photographer began. I had advised my sister on a photographer for her wedding, and although the woman she selected is incredibly talented, she is not a friendly person. This was disappointing considering you spend much of your wedding day with your photographer. Brooke was a true dream come true for me. She responded to all my correspondence ahead of time, which set me at ease. My husband and I met with her in person ahead of time and loved her right away. She was a pleasure to spend our wedding day with and made us feel special. Our second shooter, Ruth Powell is also a gem and did a stunning job. I have formed a friendship with Brooke post wedding, and hope to one day hire her for family photos when our first child is born next year. Not only was Brooke a true pleasure to work with, but she executed the most stunning photography of our wedding day. She captured the true emotion of the day and has given our family a time capsule of pure beauty to hold on to for the rest of our lives and one day share with future generations. Not only do we love the photos, but others do as well. We were featured on Style Me Pretty New York, Carrot & Cake, as well as cover models for PDN Magazine's wedding issue. All proof that Brooke has exceptional talent! Thank you Lisa, Brooke and Ruth a million times over. You gave this picky girl a gift that far surpassed the value of any monetary amount we exchanged. I will treasure you all for a lifetime!
Brooke was delightful to work with. As the mother of the bride, I was hoping for beautiful pictures for us and all of our guests of our first daughters wedding. She was there before we arrived and left after we left that evening. Always smiling and even checking in with me to ask if there was any other shots I wanted to make sure we had gotten. When the pictures became available on the website, we were amazed at the great moments she had captured. The color and lighting looked unreal and the choices she made for the photos were absolutely lovely. If there was a unique sun ray to be seen, Brooke caught it on film with the bride and groom right there. Thank you so very much Brooke!!!!
